​The Volunteer UP team was proud to participate in a prisoner reentry simulation event hosted by Rowan University in collaboration with the U.S. Attorney’s Offices for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well as Rowan’s College of Humanities & Social Sciences and Department of Law & Justice Studies. Volunteer UP proudly hosted its second annual clinic in Camden, held in January 2024 on Martin Luther King Day. Our attorney volunteer, Matthew A. Grubman, Associate Attorney at Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C., assisted in obtaining a delayed certificate of birth. Matt aided in petitioning the court and working with an NJ Assistant Attorney General to help obtain the birth record, which is something the 73 year-old client had never had before. The client was so happy that she sent a personal thank you to Matt, which you can watch here on YouTube.
